Azores and Back Yacht Race 2011

After Sam White and Richard Raistricks efforts on the race to the Azores the race home will see Sam's first solo ocean race. The competion comprises some of the finest sailors in the UK and thanks to a great race here Sam is still well within sight of a podium finish. This is Yacht racing at its best and of course anything could happen in the next 1250 miles.

Drifting...

Current drifting in a westwards direction. When the tide turns we will
drop the anchor until either the tide turns in our favour again (6
hours) or the wind picks up. No wind forecast till sunday lunchtime
though!

Lottery sailing at it's best.....

  1. After checking your position on the tracking software, I think I can see you from our bedroom window. It's very hazy and we can't see any details but, with binoculars, ColdFusion Reloaded looks like a BIG white blob and there's a smaller blob nearby. Apparently, that's you!
Let's hope the wind picks up soon for you, otherwise we'll send you the rescue boat tomorrow with rounds of bacon sarnies!

    See you both soon,

  2. another 45 mins or so to go and the tide will turn...but I'm sure you know that.
It looks like you are anchored...along with the rest of the group...don't have access to a chart but it looks too deep to anchor...you must have bloody long arms.I am sure you are both staying positive....the only questionable decision you have made so far is the choice of curry....
