Azores and Back Yacht Race 2011

After Sam White and Richard Raistricks efforts on the race to the Azores the race home will see Sam's first solo ocean race. The competion comprises some of the finest sailors in the UK and thanks to a great race here Sam is still well within sight of a podium finish. This is Yacht racing at its best and of course anything could happen in the next 1250 miles.

Update from the West Coast of Ireland.....

The spinnaker went back up at 5am. With a good swell we managed to surf a lot and average over 10 kts of boat speed. Gained good ground on the boat ahead but not quick enough to catch him. Reached Fastnet at 05:50 and are now sailing up the Atlantic coast of Ireland. Great scenery and even some sunshine! At the moment we are on for Barra by Sunday morning....
