Azores and Back Yacht Race 2011

After Sam White and Richard Raistricks efforts on the race to the Azores the race home will see Sam's first solo ocean race. The competion comprises some of the finest sailors in the UK and thanks to a great race here Sam is still well within sight of a podium finish. This is Yacht racing at its best and of course anything could happen in the next 1250 miles.

The sunset on the delivery to Plymouth

At 10pm we were still bailing out, so it would have been easy to have not paused to look at/take photo of this sunset. I am glad I did and am looking forward to many more. And unfortunately far too many sunrises! By 2 am the moon was bright, flying the Code Zero sail we were cutting through the shimmering water but with a dying wind it wasn't long before the engine was back on and the peace shattered. its 5:40 am now. Plymouth sound in sight and the thought of breakfast and a coffee is on my mind.....
